This evening, Tamron announced new lens: the Tamron 17-70mm F/2.8 Di III-A VC RXD for Fuji X-mount. About a year and a half ago, Tamron released the same lens for APS-C Sony E-mount, and in my own tests I found it to be one of the best lenses available for Sony APS-C, with first-rate optical performance and excellent autofocus.
Fuji has a better selection of professional quality lenses than Sony did for APS-C mount, but the lens will offer photographers a compact, lightweight, flexible, and less expensive alternative to Fuji glass (though some may argue that Tamron doesn’t match the Fuji aesthetic).
Expect the lens to be available on July 8 for about $799, and of course you can pre-order it at B&H Photo if you want to get your order in early.
