This morning, Zeiss announced the Milvus 25mm f/1.4 lens, making “Milvus” the largest family of Zeiss lenses. Designed as a wide angle lens for Nikon and Canon DSLR systems, the Milvus 1.4/25 promises ultra-sharp optics for high resolution across the frame. Like all members of the line, the new Milvus is a manual focus lens, this one with a long, 172-degree focusing throw. It’s metal body is ruggedly constructed and weather sealed for working in harsh environments. It is intended for use in landscape and architectural photography and videography.

The Zeiss Milvus 1.4/25 will begin shipping on November 2nd for a price of $2399 USD or $2399 Euros, if you’re unfortunate enough to be buying it in Europe.
