Last evening, Nikon announced the latest incarnation of their professional workhorse, the Nikon D4s. Like most of Nikon’s “S” models, the D4s is not as revolutionary as it is evolutionary; it has the same 16 megapixel sensor as its predecessor, but carries a faster processor, improved AF system, and faster LAN connection, for example. Shooting speed has increased as a result (11 fps vs 10fps), and 60fps 1080p video is now available.
The new model will be shipping shortly at a price of about $6500 for the body.
